Don’t Call It A Comeback, I’ve Blogged Here For Years

LL Cool J – Mama Said Knock You Out

In February of 2006, I started a blog. Blogging was something I contemplated on and off for months on end, earlier. I had gone through something of a breakup with the girl I had been seeing and decided my new blog would be a safehouse I could visit, which would be healthier on my liver than the alternative. That blog survived for just over three years.

In October of 2008, I started a Twitter feed. Twitter was something I contemplated on and off for months on end, earlier. I had gone through something of a breakup with the girl I had been seeing and decided Twitter would be a safehouse I could visit, which would be healthier on my liver than the alternative. That Twitter account is still active and can be found in this blog’s column.

In September of 2009, after a six-month hiatus, I got the itch to blog again. This time not spurred by the end of a relationship, per say, but instead my working relationship. My division announced they were leaving the state, and at the time I write this, I still search for a job. Jobless for the first time since college. I guess you could say that when life has put a fist to my chin, writing has always been in my corner waiting for me and able to make me feel better. I’m a little older now, have three gray hairs that I’ve proudly earned, but hopefully writing will help me win one more time. Because I need it right now, more than ever.

random thoughts at three a.m. will be just as it sounds. These will be extremely random posts. Some essays may have started as a 140-character tweet that had a bigger story to tell. They could be profound. They could be horrible puns. They could be video blogs I’ve recorded. Or just a video of Jay-Z rapping over Toto’s Africa. Through all the chaos, their common denominator will be that they came from and summarize that which I’ve seen, thought, or heard … often times sparked from a random thought I had while unable to sleep at three a.m.

I’m neurotic. I thrive on posted comments, emails, and re-blogs to know that you’re reading. So please help a brother out in that department, even if you do so anonymously. Twitter’s still my main love for now, so be sure to also follow me on Twitter so I can continue the dialogue with you.

I look forward to lacing ‘em up one more time! Thanks for coming out.
